Residents of Dumont ALWAYS have a selection of activities to choose from, because there’s always something happening here. From structured activities like exercise classes, discussion groups and sing-alongs, to less structured choices like the daily 3:00 “Coffee Break” in the Dumont Café, there’s something for everybody to do.
Activities at Dumont are designed to help residents feel a sense of “community” that extends beyond the walls of the facility. Holidays and special events, like the Super Bowl and national elections are celebrated. Children from the neighborhood are invited in for Halloween “Treats.” And fifth graders from a local elementary school visit on a regular basis. The Dumont Activities Director makes a point of visiting with new arrivals to familiarize them with programs and to find out what they like to do. Sometimes these visits inspire whole new activities for all the residents. Sometimes they inspire new interests for the new resident. They always result in a better understanding of what will make every individual’s time spent at Dumont as full of life as possible.
